CLUB TRIO IMPRESS FOR WESTERN SELECT

CONGRATULATIONS to the club players who impressed for the Western Region in the first leg of the qualifying UEFA Regions Cup play-off game against the Eastern Region at Holm Park, Armagh on Monday evening. The trio of Colin Robinson, James McClay and Blaine Burns, who captained the team, all started in the 4-3 victory as did the Strabane Athletic duo of Conal Crawford and Kyle Harte. Harte scored one of the goals for the Western side with ex-Dergview player and Strabane man Warner Mullen, now Loughgall United, scoring twice to keep the tie alive. The second leg will be played at the Mill Meadow, Castledawson next Wednesday evening, May 25. Kick-off 7.45pm. The winning team will be managed by ex-Dergview manager Harry McConkey and will go on to represent Northern Ireland in a UEFA Regions Cup qualifying tournament in Moldova in November. Scott McMillan is only available for the first leg, while William Armstrong, Daniel McMurray and Eamon Kelly are only available for the second leg.
