Securing the services of a recognised striker was the second piece of good news for Clarke this week. There had been speculation experienced skipper Colin Robinson was considering an offer to take on a management position with a Fermanagh and Western League Division One club.
However Robinson has pledged his future to his hometown club in what will be a testimonial season. Clarke insisted Robinson had been a great servant for the club and he was equally delighted his skipper had committed to another season in the Championship.
“His form was outstanding in the second half of last season and the club are going to reward him by giving him a testimonial game,” added Clarke.
“It’s full deserving. He has been at the club 17-18 years and has been a tremendous servant during that time. The club wanted to acknowledge that.”
