Dunbreen Rovers......3
Dergview Reserves...4
Andrew Sproule showed his batteries were fully recharged following a recent holiday by weighing in with a stunning hat-trick as the reserve team made it three wins from three against Dunbreen Rovers at Youth Sprort Omagh. The visitors flew out of the blocks with Sproule picking up a cross from Philip Wallace before slotting home from the edge of the box.
The hosts battled right back and were soon on level terms when player-manager Gerard McCaskie sent the ball over the top for Mickey McMenamin to run onto and claim his first of the day.By the half hour mark the visitors were back in front with striker Graham Lecky scampering clear to blast to the net.
The goals simply kept coming and, after Ruairi Meyler levelled by scrambling home following a Charlie Donnelly corner, Marty Buchanan’s visitors made it 3-2 at the break when Dylan Rankin crossed for Sproule to rifle past the helpless Andrew Maguire.
Rovers though hit back for a third time early in the new half with McMenamin converting from the spot after a Dergview player had been penalised for hand ball. But it was the visitors and that man Sproule who had the final say. Substitute Turlough McNamee headed on and the hotshot made no mistake to maintain his side’s 100 percent start.
Tomorrow (Saturday) the second string host free-scoring Lisnaskea Rovers.
